The Clinical Director of Take This, Dr. Raffael Boccamazzo PsyD, LMHCA, discusses mental health as it pertains to working in the video game industry. Speaker Bio Raffael Boccamazzo, PsyD, LMHCA Dr. Boccamazzo is the clinical director of Take This Project – a mental health nonprofit which seeks to inform our community about mental health issues, to provide education about mental disorders and mental illness prevention, and to reduce the stigma of mental illness. In his Take This role, Dr. Boccamazzo oversees the clinical outreach efforts of Take This, including the AFK Room, and authors a number of the web-based educational articles. Additionally, he has a private practice in the Seattle area conducting individual psychotherapy and psychological assessments, and he is a social skills coach with Aspiring Youth in Seattle teaching social skills to teens and young adults, often using tabletop role playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons) as a vehicle for teaching.
