Statement on Iran Protests
4 Oct 2022The IGDA & IGDA Foundation are deeply saddened by the death of Mahsa Amini and we condemn the censorship and suppression of protesters voicing opposition to Iran’s regime that perpetuates gender, economic, and social inequities.
We believe freedom of expression, bodily autonomy, and dignity are fundamental human rights. For game developers–and all people–to thrive in their work and life, they must be able to express themselves free from systemic oppression and discriminatory practices sustaining inequality.
As global organizations dedicated to supporting diverse representation across the games industry, we express our solidarity with those advocating for a more equitable and just life in Iran.
Women, Life, Freedom.
