News and updates from the mothership.

  • The U.S. Department of Labor has requested the IGDA’s assistance with a program that is important to the nation – the Occupational Information Network (O*NET®). The research team at O*NET is aiming to identify occupational experts (OEs) for the occupation of Video Game Designers.

    • For O*NET data collection purposes, Occupational Experts usually have five or more years of experience with an occupation. They may also have experience as a supervisor or trainer as well as the expertise to rate the occupation on tasks, knowledge areas, work context factors, and work activities.

    • Occupational experts will be asked to complete O*NET questionnaires to provide information on their field of expertise. Their contribution to this program will ensure that the occupational information provided in the O*NET database is current and accurate.

    • Examples of the questionnaire can be found here, and if you select “Video Game Designer” in the occupation box, you can view a sample questionnaire.

    • If you’re interested in supporting this initiative, please complete the interest form here.

  • The IGDA Game Showcase highlights upcoming projects from IGDA members and partners. These projects are promoted within the IGDA Insider as well as on the IGDA website to help them reach thousands of game developers. Visit here to submit yours!

  • Pathfindings 2023 – Speaker Submissions – The IGDA is looking for people from the global south interested in speaking at our upcoming Pathfindings Conference!

  • If you still haven’t completed the 2023 Developer Satisfaction Survey, it’s not too late! All individuals from the game industry are encouraged to participate in the survey – it’s available in 7 languages. Your work, your experiences, & your voices matter. Take the survey here
