A note from the current chair Chase Bethea

It is with a heavy heart that I formally announce my resignation as Chair at the IASIG. After much vacillation and consideration, I have come to the difficult decision that it is time for me to step down from this role and explore new horizons in my personal and professional life.

I am confident that I leave the IASIG on an upswing and in good shape.
Our new relationship with IGDA is strong and we are on a trajectory of growth. The IASIG provides a wonderful opportunity to interact with the interactive audio community as well as develop networks and connections for personal development and growth.

It’s been a valuable experience to learn the ins and outs of the organization, an honor and a privilege to be part of an organization that has been around for close to three decades.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has shown your unwavering support, dedication, and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our success in the IASIG. I have learned a lot and I will carry these valuable lessons with me as I embark on my next adventure.

Kindest regards,
Chase Bethea
Former Chair, IASIG (Interactive Audio Special Interest Group)

A note from the incoming chair Steve Horowitz

Welcome to IASIG 2.0, as we enter a new phase of growth. 2024 will be a big year for the group as we continue to foster new relationships with companies and individuals in the field as well as launch several new initiatives and community building programs. The mission of the IASIG has always been to create dialogue and a bridge between creatives working the field and the companies that make all the cool technology they use every day. With Chase’s strong leadership over the last year we have developed several essential partnerships to strengthen the group and its mission. We still formally sit under the auspices of the MIDI association and are also now the official audio SIG of the International Game Developers Association. That gives us a voice and reach into the game and audio development communities of almost seventy thousand members!

I invite you to read on below, check out the work we are undertaking for the community at large and consider becoming a member. If your interest is networking for career development, music, sound design, programming or tool design and development as it relates to audio for Games, AR/VR, AI or any other interactive or adaptive media then the IASIG is the place for you to meet, mingle and work with like minded folks, jump in the water is just fine!

We are proud to announce the inclusion of tow new steering committee members, Austin Smith & David Berol.
