2022 Volunteer Appreciation

25 Apr 2022

April is a time for organizations to appreciate the hard work of their volunteers. The IGDA has so many amazing volunteers all over the world, and we want to showcase them on IGDA’s Volunteer Week celebration.

Please see some of our amazing volunteers below – and don’t forget to fill out our form here if you’re a volunteer with the IGDA who would also like to be included!

Tiziano Giardini

Tiziano Giardini is a Co-Chair for the IGDA Italy Chapter.

Why do you volunteer at IGDA?

“I want to do my part in helping the italian game industry to develop. I believe that our industry is in need of opportunities for professionals to meet and share their knowledge and I feel a mission to help my community as I’m part of it.”

What does IGDA mean to you?

“I believe that to have a healthy gaming industry, you need a social glue that enables connections between people, creating an inclusive and open community that is able to help every game professional to achieve success in their career. I believe that IGDA is that social glue that brings people together, locally and globally.”

Dylan Gedig

Dylan Gedig is the Regional Organizer for Canada and US Pacific Northwest.

Why do you volunteer at IGDA?

“The IGDA was a fantastic jumping off point for me to start my career. Both our local chapter events and an IGDA E3 Scholarship were fundamental to me getting into the industry, and I’ve been trying to give back where I can ever since to ensure others have the same opportunities!”

What does IGDA mean to you?

“The IGDA represents a community that spans the entire world, sharing knowledge and opportunities to make developing games easier for thousands of people. Its chapters are often the easiest ways to meet developers from other cities, whether visiting in-person or through digital collaborations.”

Sandra Castro Pinzón

Why do you volunteer at IGDA?

“I love to be connected with a community that values the importance of creation, inclusion and gap breaking.”

What does IGDA mean to you?

“IGDA for me is an organization that brings together the most amazing industries that I believe will change the world.”
