The IGDA LA chapter is dedicated to fostering the growth and advancement of the game developer community in the Los Angeles Area. Our chapter is open to members and non-members who work in the games industry, are transitioning into the industry, are studying games, or are interested in games and game development.

We’re here to support everyone in their journey and to help build a strong and vibrant community!

Our Core Principles

Collaborate, not Compete

Los Angeles has a thriving developer community with a plethora of monthly meetups and established events. Rather than compete with these existing communities, we seek to collaborate with organizers in the area, with the aim of building a more connected, central community hub.

Foster Growth

We seek to promote upward growth and movement for everyone in our community, with events and resources catered to all levels. Whether you’re considering a career in games or a seasoned professional, we want to support you.

Listen to our Community

We understand that every community has different needs and that the greater games community is composed of a myriad of smaller ones. We seek to offer events and programs that are tailored to our community’s needs and to continue iterating based upon community feedback.

Create Safe Spaces

The games industry, while beautiful, can be tough and we know from experience that facing hardships can quickly lead to feelings of isolation. We aim to create safe spaces that people can find community in, to feel seen, supported, and respected.
