On the Horizon

News and updates from the mothership.

In partnership with CWA and UNI, the IGDA recently held a panel and workshop on unionization in games! If you missed the live event and workshop, check out the recording here and some additional resources shared by the CWA:

  • The IGDA has recently opened up a few volunteer positions for various projects, from Discord moderation support to developer resource consolidation. If you or someone you know is looking to become more involved with IGDA in a volunteer capacity, please reach out!

  • The U.S. Department of Labor has requested the IGDA’s assistance with a program that is important to the nation – the Occupational Information Network (O*NET®). The O*NET Program is the primary source of occupational information used by employers, human resource professionals, job counselors, and labor market analysts across the country who rely on such information to perform their daily work.

The IGDA would like your help to keep this information reliable and up-to-date for Video Game Designers. You can view the current occupation description for Video Game Designer here.

If you are an occupational expert or know of someone who has five or more years of experience for the occupation of Video Game Designer, please consider filling out the participation interest form.
