Partner Spotlight: Two Hat

5 Mar 2020

Today we would like to shine a spotlight on our partner Two Hat, creator of an AI-powered chat filter and automated content platform, and a proud Gold Partner of the IGDA.

Two Hat’s AI-powered content moderation platform classifies, filters, and escalates more than 30 billion human interactions, including messages, usernames, images, and videos a month, all in real-time. With an emphasis on surfacing online harms including cyberbullying, abuse, hate speech, violent threats, and child exploitation, they enable clients across a variety of games, social networks, kids’ platforms, and brands to foster safe and healthy user experiences.

Built with developers in mind, you don’t have to install anything to get started with Two Hat. Instead, they provide you with an access key and a secure RESTful API, where you send the user id and their message or username (or URL for images and videos) to their server in a simple JSON request via HTTPS.

More than just a profanity filter, they also offer 20 global languages, a user reputation system, flexible workflows with automated actions including suspend, ban, mute, etc, content queues and escalation options, for human moderation, and reports and data analysis.

They work alongside developers and community teams at some of the biggest social platforms in the world, including Supercell, Rovio, Roblox, and more. Two Hat is built for scale and can support communities of any size, with low latency and 99.99% uptime.

Two Hat Director of Community Trust & Safety Carlos Figueiredo said this about Two Hat’s support of the IGDA: “We are encouraged by and fully believe in IGDA’s mission. Having worked for a gaming organization and co-founded the Fair Play Alliance, I strongly believe in the power of games to create meaningful and life-changing experiences for billions of players collectively, and I understand that it also starts with supporting the dedicated professionals who are committed to creating those experiences for players. Part of that support includes providing best practices, guidance, and tools to foster healthy online gaming communities, and this is where Two Hat hopes to add value to the IGDA’s development community”.
