DHAKA, BANGLADESH – May 5, 2026
– The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Bangladesh successfully concluded the IGDA GameDev Summer Meetup 2026 on May 2. The event, which took place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rise Up Labs in Dhaka, witnessed an unprecedented turnout, bringing together students, indie developers, and seasoned industry experts under one roof.

Organized by Battery Low Interactive and sponsored by Rise Up Labs, the meetup was designed to foster networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within the rapidly expanding Bangladeshi game development community.

The response to the event far exceeded initial expectations. The venue reached its strict maximum capacity well before the event began, resulting in a fully packed house and a substantial waitlist. This overwhelming presence serves as a strong indicator of the surging interest and talent pool within the local immersive technology and video game sectors.

“We were absolutely blown away by the massive crowd and the sheer energy everyone brought to the floor,” said Minhaz-Us-Salakeen Fahme, Founding President of IGDA Bangladesh and Co-founder/CEO of Battery Low Interactive. “When we first started putting this together, we didn’t anticipate just how hungry the community was to connect. Seeing this level of passion proves that the game development scene in Bangladesh is alive, kicking, and ready to scale. For those we couldn’t accommodate this time due to space limitations, we are already looking into larger venues for our future events.”

The event officially kicked off with an inspiring keynote speech by Ershadul Hoque, Founder of Rise Up Labs and a Board Member of IGDA Bangladesh, who also served as the sponsor for the meetup. Hoque captivated the audience by sharing stories from the early days of the Bangladeshi game development scene, including remarkable milestones such as competing alongside global entertainment giants like Disney.

Following the opening address, attendees were treated to an exceptionally interesting and informative panel discussion. The panel featured prominent industry leaders, including Arif Mohammad, CEO of Technomagic Pvt Ltd; Meheraj Hassan Maruf, Vice President of IGDA Bangladesh and CEO of AttritoM7 Productions LTD.; and Niaz Murshed, Secretary of IGDA Bangladesh and Co-Founder & CEO of Auleek. Together, they provided a candid look at the realities of the industry, discussing current challenges, effective growth strategies, the unique struggles of building a game development firm, and the present state of the local game development ecosystem.

In addition to these insightful sessions, the event featured a dynamic game showcasing segment where talented Bangladeshi developers took the spotlight to demonstrate their technical skills and present their amazing, homegrown games to the community. The three-hour summit also included dedicated open networking blocks where attendees exchanged ideas, shared portfolios, and discussed the future of interactive media in Bangladesh.

The success of the IGDA GameDev Summer Meetup 2026 was made possible by the dedicated efforts of Battery Low Interactive as the organizing partner and the generous support of Rise Up Labs, who provided both sponsorship and an ideal venue for the gathering.

With 60 attendees actively participating in the summit, the event officially set a milestone as the largest meetup of game developers in the history of Bangladesh. The unprecedented demand was further underscored by the fact that over 25 eager individuals could not be accommodated due to strict space and time constraints.

Organizers have assured the community that waitlisted individuals will receive priority registration for upcoming IGDA Bangladesh events as the association continues its mission to support and elevate local talent on the global stage.
