Call For Proposals Now Open For 2013 IGDA Summit

IGDA Summit | 31 July – 1 August 2013 | Hilton San Francisco Union Square

The IGDA Summit is about celebrating game development by sharing the knowledge and expertise of the IGDA membership. This event istheplace for our global community to provide valuable professional development, actionable insight, and candid discussion to elevate our craft.

For the 2013 IGDA Summit, industry leaders from across many disciplines will come together to contribute content to serve developers in the broadest sense, including programmers, producers, studio management, writers, designers, artists, QA, localization, and many other functions and specialties. The Summit is open to anyone – at any phase or level of their career, regardless of studio size or game types or platform – who seeks to learn from and share techniques for creating successful careers, games, and businesses.

Call for Proposals — DEADLINE EXTENDED THROUGH WEEKEND

When: The CFP is now closed. The deadline for submissions was Sunday 12 May 2013, 23:59 (US Pacific time). We are aiming to notify speakers of their acceptance by 31 May 2013. Speakers will receive a complimentary pass that provides access to both Casual Connect and the IGDA Summit!

What: For 2013, the IGDA is looking for great sessions and speakers across a wide range of topics. We are open to receiving proposals onanytopic relevant to the art and craft of game development, so if you have a great idea, please send a proposal! We are particularly interested in the following themes for the IGDA Summit:

  • Leadership / Management best practices and challenges
  • Advocacy on key issues affecting game developers
  • Community building and management
  • Professional development and career building
  • Workshops: Do you have a skill you’d like to teach other developers?
  • Microtalks: Quick, focused talks on a wide range of subjects
