DESCRIPTION:GUEST BIOGRAPHY \nGeoffrey “GZ” Zatkin is a game designer\, industry executive\, and serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the video game industry. One of the original designers of EverQuest\, co-founder of game data giant EEDAR and game development studio Experiment 7\, Geoffrey is also Extra Credits studio director and game designer in residence. \n  \nIn 2018 Geoffrey joined Extra Credits as a board member\, severing as senior leadership for the creative staff and directing channel strategy before becoming Extra Credits studio director in late 2019. He has overseen channel growth taking Extra Credits from 1.4 to 2.6 million subscribers. \n  \nIn 2015 Geoffrey co-founded Experiment 7\, a video game studio focused on creating virtual reality strategy games with broad audience appeal. Experiment 7’s best-selling VR games are partnerships with popular brands including Catan (Asmodee) and Dungeons and Dragons (Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast). \n  \nIn 2006 Geoffrey co-founded EEDAR\, the video game industry’s premier market research and business-intelligence firm\, which was acquired by NPD in 2016. He directed the development of EEDAR’s data classification and products & services infrastructure\, and later served on its board of directors and as an evangelist-at-large. \n  \nGeoffrey’s first decade in the video game industry was as a game designer\, where he served in senior and lead design roles for numerous video game titles generating over $1 billion in combined revenue. He was an integral part of the original EverQuest design team and helped pioneer the rise of MMO games. \n  \nGeoffrey is a frequent contributor to game industry development as a presenter at GDC\, PAX\, and various other conferences and collegiate game courses. DESCRIPTION:The IGDA and Gallery 5 present a live event with Independent video game studio heads from Mohawk Games (Old World\, Offworld Trading Company)\, and Farbridge (RWBY Grimm Eclipse\, Walkabout Mini Golf\, Unnanounced Gearbox Project).  \nSpeakers for this event will be in-person\, travelling to Richmond to help us build game development in Central Virginia.  \nCEO of Mohawk Games and Creative Director for Old World. Leyla grew up in Lebanon and studied Journalism before working in radio and government. A talented polyglot\, Leyla worked on Offworld Trading Company and for Mohawk\, she has performed work in different disciplines from community management\, art direction\, project lead to narrative design.  \n\nGrowing up in Washington State\, Soren enjoyed several hobbies including videogames\, music and soccer. Completing an internship at EA\, he transitioned to Firaxis to work on Civilization III and IV. Soren is now Design Director at Mohawk Games and brings years of experience to projects like Offworld Trading Company and Old World. \nCEO of Farbridge\, Patrick Curry founded and runs a distributed game studio with a nexus of folks in Central Texas. Farbridge shipped games for practically every type of game console\, computer\, mobile platform\, and VR/AR devices\, over 12 projects across 30 SKUs on 10+ platforms. They work with partners like EA\, Wizards of the Coast\, Gearbox\, and cooking up their own original games. Patrick has had four exits as co-founder/partner: Tsugi (Unity)\, Wideload (Disney)\, Powered (Dachis Group)\, ZFI (Frog Design). Two exits as advisor/investor: Owlchemy Labs (Google)\, Howdy.ai (Microsoft). Currently advising Superboss Games\, Pretty Hype Games\, Absurd Joy\, Wayside Press\, and new super secret awesome companies.
