Making a new course page

These instructions are meant to help new users add course pages to the wiki as part of the Curriculum Knowledge Base.

First, just to give you some perspective, here's an overview what you're going to do:

• Start a new page on this wiki by entering a link to a new page on an existing page and then clicking on that link
• Enter a special text statement into the new page and save
  • (the page will be magically filled in with some boilerplate text)
• At this point, you will be all ready to fill in the page with your course's information

The step-by-step instructions are as follows:

As in the video, you start by going to the New course links page.

Step 1: Click on "edit this page" at the top of the New course links page.

Step 2: Add a link to the new course you want to add, e.g. [[My Course's Name]], then save the page.

Step 3: There will now be a red link to your course on the page. Click on it!

Step 4: In the edit box, type {{subst:course boilerplate}} and save. The page will automagically fill with the course template! You can now click "edit this page" to start replacing the template information with your own.
